A Course in Miracles
What is A Course in Miracles?
A Course In Miracles is a spiritual technology revered and often quoted by Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Jerry Jampolsky, Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson and Oprah Winfrey. Many around the world consider it the greatest form of trans-personal psychology of our century. Through a direct experiential process, the Course promises greater joy and love if we are willing to practice and apply the concepts. Over three and a half decades we have heard so many people express their earnest desire to hear about the Course in simple, everyday language. And for that, we need excellent Teachers. Call in to receive Spiritual Advice on a situation or ask a question about The Course.

What Listeners Have to Say...
Dear Dr. Bob,
Thank you for writing and sharing From Plagues to Miracles. I've been listening to you and Char on Spiritual Insights.
I've started the workbook in ACIM, and am on day 17. I tried reading ACIM a couple of times, but until reading your book, I just couldn't get into it. It's changing my life now, and it's due to you and Char. I was going to call in but too nervous! But want you to know I appreciate you immensely!

I listen to archived shows on my iPad while I drive around during the day for work. The other day, listening to your show, it finally hit me that it is easy for me to forgive others but not easy for me to forgive myself. I felt a deep "shock" or "vibration" that shot down through my body and I knew it was a core issue that was brought to the surface. Thank you for that! |
You are amazing! I look forward to your shows. I've learned so much from you and your guests. It's been hard for me to forgive my mother so I could move on and release the pain in my knee. I wrote one letter to her, read it to her and destroyed it. She passed over 21 years ago and until recently I didn't know I carried all this pain with me. |

From Plagues to Miracles: The Transformational Journey of Exodus, From the Slavery of Ego to the Promised Land of Spirit by Robert Rosenthal, M.D. (Dr. Bob)
Released by Hay House in 2012, From Plagues to Miracles interprets the Biblical story of Exodus in terms of the perceptions of the ego as an early attempt at understanding the complex concepts of A Course In Miracles. If you are a student of A Course in Miracles or would like to be and need a jump start in understanding it, it is recommended that you read this book first.
In From Plagues to Miracles, psychiatrist Robert Rosenthal takes a fresh and bold new look at the story of Exodus in which the figures of Moses and Pharaoh represent dueling aspects of the human mind. Pharaoh is the ego-mind: arrogant, capricious, and cut off from God and Spirit. Moses represents the part of the mind that is and has always been in full, direct connection with God. And the Hebrews represent us—all of us, regardless of religious affiliation. Their trials are a mirror of our own spiritual dilemma as we’re tossed back and forth between ego and Spirit— Pharaoh and Moses—all the while trying to find our way to the Promised Land of inner peace and freedom. Viewed in this way, Exodus becomes a travel guide for the spiritual seeker: a powerful road map for navigating the different stages of the spiritual journey.
Although remaining faithful to the original Bible text, Dr. Rosenthal borrows generously from spiritual teachers and traditions as diverse as the Roman philosopher Seneca, Zen Buddhism and A Course in Miracles. He spices his accounts of transformation and miracles with personal anecdotes and real-life examples from his psychotherapy patients. If you’ve always felt that there must be more to the Old Testament, but could never sift the spiritual wheat from the thou-shalt-not chaff, then this book is for you. But even if you have little interest in the Bible, the insights offered by From Plagues to Miracles on the nature of the spiritual path and the how-to of miracles would alone make it an invaluable companion for any serious spiritual seeker.

Testimonials for From Plagues to Miracles
"If ever there was a bridge between the Bible and A Course in Miracles, this is it. Through the mind and heart of Robert Rosenthal, M.D., the hidden meaning of Exodus pours out in clear and digestible terms. Concise and exact in its illustration and demonstration of the ego's role in human suffering — through the perfect blending of psychology, expert translation of symbolism, spiritual wisdom and concrete examples of real life events. This is no ordinary insight into the conditions of slavery and freedom as they pertain to the ego; it's an exemplary guide to perception and behavior suitable for any individual no matter their level of spiritual development. Not only do I understand this biblical story at a far deeper level, my spiritual journey itself has deepened in so many ways after reading this! It's a profound experience I won't soon forget. If you study A Course in Miracles or have made an attempt and would like to try again with new eyes, I encourage you to read this book! It’s the perfect primer to get you into the zone in which the often abstract concepts of ACIM make sense."

“From Plagues to Miracles made the story of Exodus come to life for me…. I found Bob Rosenthal’s approach to Moses and Pharaoh to be most illuminating. I highly recommend this book, and I congratulate Bob for his unique contribution.” |
“I just wanted to let you know that this week I read your book. I found it easy to read, very interesting, original, creative, and instructive. I liked the way you superimposed A Course in Miracles and the journey from ego to spirit throughout the book with stories from your clients. It was wisely done and an enjoyable read…. You did a great job!" |
“Dr. Robert Rosenthal has a unique voice in that special territory shared by both psychiatry and spirituality. He writes with the wisdom gained from years of spiritual study as well as the discipline of listening to people’s suffering. His book translates the old Biblical story of Exodus in a way that informs and challenges us to integrate our spiritual insights into our daily lives.” |
“Dr. Rosenthal’s superb book offers a unique and powerful new interpretation of the book of Exodus from a spiritual vantage—seeing Exodus as a metaphor for the rocky path of personal (as well as societal) enlightenment. To my knowledge, in the thousands of years that Exodus has been around, no one else has offered such insights. Dr. Rosenthal’s extensive experience with clinical psychiatry and various schools of spirituality, as well as his gift for seeing well beyond the obvious, make him the ideal person to find new treasures within this ancient Biblical text.” |
